Our Valley Baptist Medical Center—Brownsville Sleep Center has provided services for more than a decade in a comfortable suite located in the Professional Tower at Valley Baptist Medical Center—Brownsville.

What to Expect

Every patient is unique and receives a thorough evaluation to provide the optimal sleep treatment and recommendations. Because sleep problems require long-term management, treatment is discussed with your doctor when possible. A member of the American Board of Sleep Medicine is on staff to help both patients and their doctors understand the diagnosis and treatment of specific sleep disorders.

To test for the above conditions, we may require a sleep study, or polysomnography, be performed. A sleep study measures bodily functions during sleep and is noninvasive and painless.

Depending on the nature of your sleep disorder, you may need to have one or two nights of polysomnography done on an outpatient basis in a private bedroom at one of our sleep centers. Trained technicians using advanced diagnostic equipment will monitor your sleep patterns from a separate control room for the duration of the study. We’ll make you as comfortable as possible while determining your treatment options for your sleep disorder.

Insurance

Sleep studies are typically covered by most major insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, Tricare, Humana and most managed care plans. Our staff will assist you in verifying coverage, obtaining pre-approval, filing claims and addressing any concerns you may have regarding your sleep studies.
