Experts Talk About Stroke

They can happen at any moment and if left untreated a stroke may cause to permanent brain damage.

The food we eat and our exercise habits have an impact on the chances of getting a stroke.

A blood clot in the brain they can happen to anyone at any time.

The brain is deprived of oxygen during a stroke. Timing is crucial. A few hours left untreated could lead to permanent brain damage.

News Center 23 met with Experts at Valley Baptist Health System in Harlingen. There we met with Head of Neuroscience Dr. Ameer Hassan. He says that diet and exercise are among the things we can change to live a healthier life.

“The problem with the Valley is that we have a higher rate of hypertension and diabetes much higher than the rest of the country as well as obesity,” says Hassan.
